Year in the making; Best Rangie Yet? / Playing Mom/ Conversion instructions soon...

   Howdy all.    Time for your End-of-January update from ZombieMotors...

    I have here to present to you, some pictures of the nicest Range Rover Classic to be 'almost done' to date!   A 1995 LWB Classic mechanically redone with tdi turbo-diesel power,  5-speed R380 gearbox,  brand-new headliner,  single-stage paint has been cut and buffed and shines like new,  as per new owner's instructions wheels have been powdercoated a flat black before being fitted with brand-new 265-profile rubber,  OME medium lift during EAS delete,  retaining A/C and cruise control  -   Looks AWESOME and gets good mileage.    I've told some of you before that I am not partial to white vehicles usually.... But this thing does look great -  Classic Range Rovers look great in white -  The only color I would like more for myself is the elusive Mosswood green.

   This truck has been more than a year in the making, and has been at that awkward state of 'almost done' now for about two or three months... but we DID have holidays here, people!   I think the new owner (Yet ANOTHER gentleman in the armed forces who will never tell me exactly where he is any given day or month,  but likes to joke "..Well, I *could* tell you where I am, but then I'd have to kill ya' ... "  But despite this behavior distinguishes himself by electing to have a Range Rover Classic with turbo-diesel power instead of another Jeep Rubicon or H2 )  is going to have custom bumpers and rack built,  I hope to get pictures of the finished product if it is not completed here in Portland.

   In other news,  this week my Precious Wife has 'Better things to do than play Mommy'  and is off in a tight sweater, hustling subscriptions for some farm magazine at an 'Agricultural Convention'  -   SO, I have been assigned to the task of keeping the baby from dying throughout the day.     Not as easy as one would expect!   Baby M. does not seem so gifted in the arts of ambulance,  until you turn your back for a minute or two to refresh your beverage in the other room, and then she seems to find a way to wiggle off of someplace far up from the floor.     The silence just after the 'THUD' and before the scream, oh my!!    That is another story,  which we hope Baby M. never learns of.     In the meantime, I thought I would try  to update the blog, and even add an entire section documenting the steps to doing these engine conversions for yourselves...  You know, since I have all the extra time this week since I am not going into the shop officially?...  but it has taken me about 2 days to just type what you see here now.   And I am a fast typer.     This baby sure needs a lot of attention.    Especially, it seems,  right when I want to do something important.

      Anyway, I am going to give it the old college try tomorrow to put up some pictures and general steps as to how we do a conversion here at Zombie Motors.       A few hand tools,  a tiny bit of welding experience,  some nitrile gloves and some perseverance and you can do it yourself.     A forklift helps a lot, too.

     More soon, more soon -    This felt very rushed, but you should know that a certain someone is demanding something again..  I hope these pictures turned out well,   this truck is really the best one yet, in my opinion.

   P.S. :  YES.  The pictures of the interior and the pictures of the exterior were taken on different days.   - And -    I *will*  be adding under-hood pictures of the power plant tomorrow!
