1986 LHD Land Rover Defender 90 diesel EX-MOD - a keeper? OR sell it?

So, I have this ex-military Defender 90 on its way here now -   I was thinking about keeping this one as it is a good basis for a build, and being a Left-hand-drive it could actually be practical for my everyday use.     I like that it is a convertible already (Will be real nice in about 8 months, anyway) and the diesel engine returns better than 25MPG as-is.  Without a turbo it will be a bit of a slouch though, so I have my eye on a 200tdi (or 300tdi) engine kit to slap in there to give it some push.    If I were to sell this truck, I would want at least $12000 for it, and the turbo diesel kit would add about $6500 including installation.

I have a nice set of Defender seats for it here, as well as a hard-top.   I'll probably get a truck cab for it too, why not?      Would make a cute,  tiny pick-up truck.

These ex-military trucks were usually very well taken care of and have low miles,  but this one has been out of the MOD for about ten years now and has 130K miles on it.   Has been service by a Land Rover expert in the UK though, and passes all of its yearly MOT tests.

Very solid and straight,   but the camo  paint could be considered brutish and ugly.   Not sure if I would go through with the trouble to try to make it pretty though -   Although a paint job would likely do it.

If you have any questions about this truck, let me know -     and HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Zombie Motors !!
