1989 Range Rover tdi diesel & 5-speed, DEFENDER 90 yellow! Nice, low miles, ready soon:

Like the ad says, I have this 1989 Bright Defender 90 yellow Tdi-powered 5 speed Range Rover Classic I will be selling soon.    I have said this before, and I shall repeat myself again here now;  I like the Classics even more than Defenders, personally.    These trucks, once converted to diesel and 5-speed are ridiculously reliable,  get fantastic mileage (25-30 MPG a reality), are arguably more fun to drive,   and unlike the Defender 90 or 110,  they have air conditioning,  a heater that really works,  comfortable seats,  more leg room,  and your wife will not complain about riding around in it.    Which may or may not be a good thing...

Plus, there are no importation worries, and being more than 25 years old and non-OBD you have no registration or DEQ issues to worry about conforming to.

This truck has been repainted recently,  and I would call the paint job about a 8 or 9 out of 10.   The only real problem is a couple of areas where paint got on a door seal/ etc.     The truck looks fantastic.   Grey leather, power seats are in excellent condition.   Doors and locks all work.  NO RUST AT ALL.   Hole cut in dash for more convenient radio head unit mounting, and some of the gauges have been converted to mechanical for more accurate readings, otherwise very stock inside.   truck has what I think is a 4" lift.    Springs and shocks are relatively new with very little miles on them.    Tires are BIG and appear NEW.     This truck looks like a Tonka Toy.    Definitely as close to a Defender you can get without spending $30K - $40K, and under the skin they are the same vehicles now.

Engine has been massaged and mated to a 5-speed transmission with all OEM factory Range Rover parts.    New clutch and radiator, timing belt, seals, etc etc.   New headliner.    Will be as-new, mechanically.

This is a great truck,  possible for sale at a not-good time of year.     I think this truck will be worth  worth close to $20K once all finished and ready to go, and be a lot more bang for the buck than a $20,000 Defender will give you.      I DO like Defenders, do not get me wrong,  I just think, being honest,   they may be slightly over-valued in today's US market as far as what you get for your money.

Let me know if you have any questions about this truck, I anticipate it being ready to go to its new home later this month (December, 2014) -  Thanks...

If you would like to discuss this truck, call me at 503-810-4713,  or email me at zak@zombiemotors.net -    I also have diesel engine conversion kits for sale, too for your own Discovery 1, Discovery 2,  Range Rover Classic or Defender 90/110 Series 88/109

On another note,   the NEW BABY is expected to be here in about 6 weeks,  so I am not taking on any more work for several  months here at the shop.     Olive.    The new baby's name.    OLIVE.    Pretty cute, huh?
