Here are some more pictures we took right before slipping the Landcruiser into the container - Very solid, with the one crack on a fiberglass wheel lip trim the worst of the truck, in my opinion. Very solid, honest, and BOX-STOCK Toyota turbo-diesel Land Cruiser should be a lot of fun! Here are more pictures, as promised :

1995 Range Rover LWB/Soft Dash Classic w/300tdi diesel & R380 5-speed - very pretty!
This Rover is a 1995 'Soft Dash Classic' in 'Cornish Cream' - Sort of an off-white. The body on this truck is super-nice. Truck came out of Texas and therefore has absolutely no rust. There is one very tiny ding at the very rear of the truck, down low, just in front of the rear bumper, very hard to see, other than that the body is perfect! Truck has not been detailed yet as of these pictures being taken, I will update photos later. Truck chassis has 140K miles on it, engine and gearboxes have just over 90K, but as I mentioned have just been serviced and will be good for 100-150K more miles before anything serious will have to be done, provided you take care of maintenance.
Interior is very nice too, but seats are a bit faded. Slightly lighter than 'tan' leather, I think they may be referred to as 'parchment' -? Headliner is nice, dash is perfect, everything works (windows/ seats/ etc) - I have a complete set of black leather non-power (manual) seats I may try to swap in to see if they look nice - Otherwise these seats are nice and will look better after truck is detailed.
Engine is super-string and truck starts, runs, drives and stops as it should. EAS Air Suspension is still in place and working fine albeit a little slow when it first raises up. I can swap out for solid springs/ shocks if you prefer, $1000-$2000 more depending on what brand you would like to go with.
Not sure what else to tell you about the truck - As you know you can not find a 300tdi-Range Rover in the states unless you build one yourself. This is how they come in the rest of the world, and they run and drive great! Tons of torque off the line, will cruise all day at 75-80MPH, and return 30MPG or better on the freeway. Very cool driving a Range Rover with a stick shift, too!
Stereo sounds great. Still factory with subwoofer and CD changer in the rear.

Land Rover Defender engine kits - 90/110 specific 200tdi/300tdi/R380 or LT77
I have two more engine kits to sell, these are both from DEFENDER 90/110 trucks, and have the mounts/ accessories that are unique to Defender applications, and which also make them ideal to install in your early Series truck like a 2,2A,3 88 or 109" (Especially the 200tdi hi-mount turbo) - Would also be great in a FC101 Forward Control. If you are interested in engine kits for your Discovery or Range Rover, I have those too.
The 300tdi kit here is rebuilt - Less than 2000 miles on it and it runs perfectly. I am offering a 12000/12 month warranty on this one, and it is a complete kit but also comes with the correct floor and transmission tunnel bits to install in your Defender or Series truck. Includes radiator/ air cleaner, intercooler, wiring pipes, etc... Considering this one is rebuilt and Defender-versions of this R380 are very difficult to find, I want $6000 for this kit.
I also have a 200tdi engine kit, complete with LT77 short-bellhousing 5 speed - Perfect upgrade for your Series truck. Tons of power, and this is clean with 89K miles on them, complete kit also ready to go. $4750 for this kit, complete.
If you do not need a gearbox, I can give you $500 credit off of the purchase price of the kit.
For an additional $550 , I can also provide brand-new (instead of used) radiator, clutch kit complete, and also include a new fuel pump, water pump, and timing belt kit.
Please send me a message at zombiemotors@earthlink.net with any questions. All kits are here in the USA on the ground ready to collect or have shipped from zip code 97203.

1983 Range Rover Classic all-original LHD solid MANUAL - should it stay or should it go?
I am debating whether or not to keep this Range Rover Classic. It is in my favorite color, has rare manual window regulators, 4-speed manual LT95 gearbox (With an overdrive on the way for relaxed cruising and 8 forward speeds!) , stock 3.5L gas engine has had the top-end rebuilt and been fitted with a sing 4-barrel downdraft carburetor for more performance and easier maintenance. All original seats inside for the time being, nice dash with no cracks, factory A/C, and best of all - NO RUST WHATSOEVER. Truck was from Nevada, and where it suffered some abuse from the sun (dried out seat covers, faded paint) it was preserved in other areas (like zero rust).
I am on the fence with this one. I have a complete P38 black leather interior with manual seats (impossible to find here in the USA) that would fit right in making the interior look about 95% better, I have a re-finished complete set of period-correct steel Rostyle wheels that would make it look even more '70's' - I have a TURBO DIESEL kit ready to drop in - This would be my keeper. That cool avocado green, non-power windows, I could make it the way I want to... That being said, I am not sure when I will have time to do all this, and in the meantime it is a goo shop truck, as-is. If someone gives me what it is worth to me ; $4000, I would let it go. Before you start to haggle, , I challenge you to go find another one, anywhere, and compare prices. You can not compare this to the 1989 Classic on Craigslist, or your coveted 1995 LWB with soft dash - This truck has no equal here in the states - A color you can not find, a manual gearbox that was never available here, no rust... $4000 is the bottom line. If I build it the way I picture it, it will be worth in the neighborhood of $15000. SO - Bring your 4 Gs, and you can drive it home. For another $800 I'll include the redone Rostyles.
The body has a lot of dings and dents. The rear half of the headliner is missing (but I am actively looking for one) , the seats although comfortable and working, look shabby. The matte black parts of the truck are faded. Those are the low points.
You can drive this while you restore it. Make it a camper. Convertible. Keep it original. Whatever you choose to do, it will retain its value, and you will not find another one like it.
If you have any questions or ant to see something else, message me at zombiemotors@earthlink.net - Thank you

An assortment of Land Rover Defender engines, diesel tdi and otherwise w/ transmissions
I am cleaning up the shop here and need to clear out the collection of engines I have. These are all the engines I have ON HAND HERE at the moment - These are not engines that 'will be here soon' or engines 'I can get for you' - These are here now, tested, cleaned, palletized and ready to collect or ship to you. I do all the proper paperwork and import these legally, and have been collecting them for diesel conversions, but at this point I have plenty of 'keepers' for myself, enough to build my own fleet of diesel/tdi Range Rovers, which will keep me happy.
So, the engine kits I have now - unless otherwise described - Are complete kits with radiator, intercooler, hoses, wiring harnesses ECUs (If needed), clutch, transmission and transfer case, motor mounts - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO INSTALL IN YOUR TRUCK , so you do not need to ask me ; "does it come with the starter?" or "what else do I need to buy to fit this in my Rover?" - These engines have been test-run, all have under 120K miles, are all complete and ready-to-run, and come with a 30-day DOA warranty. Mention you saw them here on Laughs and Lashings and I'll knock off $200 off any price. ANY OF THESE ENGINE KITS CAN COME WITH BRAND NEW (instead of good used) Radiator, water pump, fuel pump, timing belt kit and engine main seals for an additional $500.
There is a hard-to-find 300tdi / Automatic kit here - complete - For $4900. Engine, automatic transmission and LT230 transfer case all in good working condition. Complete with everything taken out of a Discovery 1, will also fit Range Rover, and Defenders with some modifications. Hard to obtain here in the States - If you prefer the R380 5-speed (and all pieces to convert your truck from automatic to manual gearbox) , I can substitute that for the same price. If you want the engine kit MINUS a transmission, I will credit you $500 off the price of the kit.
I also have a 'correct/proper high-turbo Defender' 200tdi engine kit with CORRECT short-bellhousing LT77 gearbox. Perfect to convert your 90 or 110 to turbo diesel, will also fit easily into a Series truck as well and give you a 5-speed transmission at the same time. Of course, this will also fit in a Discovery or Range Rover easily, but the beauty of the engine is really its ability to fit in the Series or Defender without modification. I'd like $4500 for this kit, complete - Go ahead and compare that to the guys trying to peddle their 200tdi engines alone without extra parts on ebay - I do not even think their engines are here in the USA.
I also have an excellent-running V8 3.5L Defender engine, complete, with its LT85 5-speed transmission and transfer case. This kit is for engine and gearboxes only - No radiator, filters, kit otherwise. Sold as pictured here. I personally drove this 110 for about 3 weeks with no troubles at all, it is a great-running engine and gearbox shifted great too. Perfect for a Defender, even cooler to put in your Series 2A or 3 to make a monster V8 Series/ hybrid truck. Id like $2000 for the pair -
I also have a BMW/ Range Rover P38 engine kit with engine kit only (ALL pieces for engine conversion - radiator, intercooler, fan shroud, wiring, ECU, power chip, motor mounts, hoses) and core transmission to use the bellhousing from to bolt up to your P38 automatic. Excellent-running engine and very hard to find. I have video of the engine running before being pulled - $4000 for this kit, complete:

Just one more: Selling THIS: 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser 5-Speed LJ70 Turbo Diesel
The truck is a 1988 Short Wheelbase turbo-diesel LJ70 . It has low miles (120K) Has only 70K on its engine (Was replaced with a rebuilt @ 50K) , and it starts, runs, drives and stops as it should. It is plenty zippy and returns about 30MPG on a run, and 22-25 in town. Has Toyota 2L-T turbo-diesel engine. Has all the looks and feel of late 1980s Toyota fare - You will recognize the switches, seats and looks. Yes, it is Right Hand Drive - Amusing for a while, but you will probably find, like me, you always walk up to the wrong side of the truck to get in.
Only problems with the truck are that the wipers are running off of a separate switch (I can fix this for you easily enough) , and the power steering has a leaky hose (I can also fix this once here for you). Fuel gauge is inaccurate below a half-tank (Can also fix!) - That is it. Otherwise truck has been in daily use until I bought it.
The truck looks very good, is very solid, and is not rusty like most of these are. This truck was never available in the USA, and only just became eligible to import. It is all stock, and looks and runs great. Asking 11,000 OBO- zombiemotors@earthlink.net
Aaaaand....A 1968 Land Rover Series 2 A Truck For Sale!!
Oh, is it ever your lucky day!! I bought this Series 2A about a month ago in the United Kingdom, went out and bought it with a couple of other trucks I am importing (UMM Alter 2 turbo diesel and a Toyota Landcruiser LJ70 ) back here to myself now. I drove the truck for a few days and it runs and drives very nice! It is a Civilian Station Wagon and it moves along very fast, and gets about 30MPG doing it too! Newer 2.5tdi engine has been fitted and using its existing gearbox with overdrive, it is plenty fast enough to keep up with modern traffic, has a lot of power for towing, cruises at freeway speeds and gets great mileage. Since I have had it I had the rear chassis cross memeber/ bumper professionally replaced, bought brand new Bearmach parabolic springs for it (not fitted yet) , bought a soft top and truck cab for it (You will have the most versatile truck in the world! Hard-top, soft-top and truck cab all included) -
Truck starts on the button and runs/ drives/ stops as it should.
Biggest problem with the truck is some rust at the top of the bulkhead on the Drivers side near where the top door hinge bolts on. A relatively easy fix for the welder, and these panels are available here from Rovers North. Floors are solid, and frame is now solid and ready to go for another 40 years. Asking $12,000 OBO...zombiemotors@earthlink.net.
1973 Dodge Superior Motorhome For Sale...A Classic Vintage Mopar RV!
$4000 OBO. This is a nice, original, excellent running Dodge Superior 2500 Motorhome. Kitchy 1970s interior in great shape, 70K original miles, bunks, bathroom kitchen all work great. Chrysler 440 Engine, torque flight 727 works great, air over hydraulic brakes...runs and drives super- drive it anywhere...just don't forget to bring a duffel bag full of cash to pay for the gas! Averages 7-9 mpg. You have to stop for gas a lot, but at least you'll look cool doing it. Message me at zombiemotors@earthlink.net

Now it's 1984...
Something other than Car stuff for a minute, Okay? Thanks. I am not really a 'political guy' - or a current affairs guy, and I usually try to make things light and fluffy and funny, but there is something wrong.
AMERICA: Land of the fat and home of the mislead. What happened to this place? And exactly when did it happen, or begin to happen?
Type things like this, and people will tune right out and consider you another hippy-communist-trouble maker. Oh, not to mention paranoid/delusional.
I have so much to say, but really have not formulated my thoughts into a cohesive string yet. In broad strokes -
Americans overeat, drink too much and use a lot of drugs. I believe everyone of these actions is a symptom rather than a base problem/ diagnosis in itself. I believe overeating, drinking and drug use are all used to alleviate some stress or underlying unhappiness that is lying a little too deep to be able to see exactly, and therefore difficult to diagnose and address. Nuff said on that for now.
Have you looked around lately at the police? This talk of them becoming militarized? That's not an exaggeration. It is scary, and I do not know why more people are not sitting up and taking notice. The world, in the last 12 years, has become a whole lot like Orwell's book, and it is actually happening, and not a lot of people seem to care. I don't think they want to acknowledge that this is in fact becoming a reality.
Fair? Justice? Steal $5000 , go to prison. Steal $500,000,000 and get a promotion. Why is it that a guy who has an ounce or two of cocaine can go to prison for 5 years , maybe 10 years (poor, black guy) and a guy who runs a corporation (rich, white guy) that lies and cheats and inside deals (or destroys an ecosystem and then tries to cover up their culpability) and defrauds FUCKING RETIRED PEOPLE OF THEIR SAVINGS does not go to jail? In fact, they get a raise and a bonus?
I'm just saying; do you ever really THINK about this? Maybe not. The new season of Walking Dead came on. Orange is the New Black? Other things to consider? The Kardashians?
Then we find out the government actually HAS BEEN LISTENING TO ALL OF OUR PHONE CALLS. Which we all pretty much assume, but the government would deny it. That is the problem, our government tells us it is 'fair/just/DEMOCRATIC/FREE' but it just keeps being caught out otherwise. Drones killing civilians. Listening to all phone calls. Interest in humanitarian crimes exclusively in countries in which we have a financial stake or interest. Treating our own war veterans like shit. The billions of dollars spent keeping immigrants out while our education systems get less funding. Becoming... and I am not exaggerating here.... A MILITARY DICTATORSHIP ! We are the ones flying all over the globe and taking what we want. We are the bad guys. It is not the fault of Al-Que'da. Think about it: we are the bad guys. And none of us seem to really care, and those that do are marginalized and made out to be wacky hippies or worse.
What be done about it? I don't know. I don't have any plan. I do know this : If you grow up inside of this, you will not notice it. History will gradually make this all make sense, and without any sense of perspective about how 'it used to be' , this will all seem normal. Be sure to have every citizen carry and depend on their cell phones. It is not so they can track you, of course and see what you are up to/looking at/reading - OH NO - they would never do that.
I do not smoke Marijuana. I am one of the fifteen people in all of Portland who does not. I usually find pot-smokers to be irritating, or I find the habit to belong to a lazy group. I could be wrong. That is just my opinion. However; I DO NOT SEE WHY IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL WHEN ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO ARE NOT. I do not see why cocaine should be illegal. Or heroin. Make it all legal, regulate it, and you would solve about 50% of the problems in the USA. War on Drugs? You mean 'War on Poor People' - right? Spend some of that money on something else and decriminalize. BUT -- someone is making a lot of money, there is a big budget on fighting the 'war on drugs' .
I could go on and on. I am probably not making many friends though, right now. Who knows? Maybe someone is listening/reading?
Land Rover Defender Guys : Why do you think they are 'cracking down' on the imports? To keep the borders safe? TO keep the highways safe? Air pollution reduction? Why would they let you bring in a rusty, smoky old 1980 whatever-you-want but not a 2005 Defender that has good brakes and a catalytic converter? Must be someone is losing money. Or someone else is making money being involved at all.
I could go on and on. I do have a daughter here though that needs to be fed and changed. She won't care about any of this, will not notice. I suppose that frustrates me a bit. I do not know what to do. I see how people get very frustrated. I wish there was something I could do. I know 'they' do not play fair however, they will do what they want, lie about it, lie to everyone, get caught, get mad at those who exposed their lying.. It is scary. Frustrating. Causes anxiety in me, I know. I suppose I can go eat something to feel better for 2 minutes. I can enjoy happy hour. If I had a favorite TV show... I probably would not feel as strongly about this as I do because some of my emotional/energy resources would be dedicated to that.
Think about it!
End Rant.
